ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER OFFSHORE WIND TURBINE FOR THE SOUTHERN NORTH SEA

Nice and steady does it. Pictured last week is the Sea Challenger heading down the Humber Estuary, past Cleethorpes and the Spurn lighthouse, en route for the site of the Hornsea offshore windfarm where her heavyweight cargo of turbine parts will be offloaded and installed on the seabed. The calm waters made for smooth progress but speed was a mere 10.7 knots - not much more than 12 miles an hour. Built in 2014, the Sea Challenger is a dedicated offshore support vessel which sails under the flag of Denmark.
