AN office block in Grimsby is to be converted to six residential apartments.
North East Lincolnshire Council planners have approved an application for change of use at 23 Dudley Street by ProHabitat Homes, a family-run development company based in New Addington, Croydon, in Surrey.
The proposal did not go before NELC's planning committee but was determined under delegated powers by Engie case officer Lauren Birkwood.
Says Ms Birkwood in her report: "Currently the two-storey semi-detached building is vacant and was used as offices for some time.
"Its intended use for residential purposes would not be out of keeping in this location where a range of residential uses are apparent.
"The proposal would bring the building back into use and re-instate and repair the building that contributes towards the character and appearance of the Wellow Conservation Area.
"The removal of the garage doors, is also considered to be a significant enhancement to the conservation area and to the property."
Agent for the project is architect Daniel Hyde, of Albert Road, Cleethorpes.
