Awaiting the builders - the cleared site off Highgate |
IT is still not clear when a start will be made on redeveloping the Cleethorpes site occupied until last summer by the Thrunscoe adult education centre.
Back in August last year, planning consent was granted for demolition of the old school buildings to make way for 42 semi-detached houses and four garages, with additional arrangements for parking and landscaping.
The land has been cleared for several months, but there has been no sign of any construction activity, perhaps because of the pandemic.
The project has been spearheaded by Land Developers (Lincs) Ltd, but it is not known if they will remain involved with the housebuilding or if another developer will come on board.
It has been suggested that a national company, Kier Homes, might be interested in the prospects, but this is unconfirmed.
The end beckons - back last spring as the school buildings await their fate |
Famous old buildings soon to bite the dust |
Green and leafy no more - sadly, numerous trees have been lost |
