THESE RED-AND-WHITE WORKHORSES ARE REGULARLY SEEN SAILING THE HUMBER ESTUARY

One of the most familiar sights both in the Humber Estuary and in dock at Grimsby is one or more of the red-and-white KESS cargo vessels. They handle roll-on roll-off cargoes, notably cars. KESS is an abbreviation of K-line European Sea Highway Services, a company founded in 2003 as wholly-owned subsidiary of Tokyo-based L line. Currently it has a total of 11 ships active  in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
