GRIMSBY'S SHORTFALL OF FREE-TO-USE LOOS IS MOST INCONVENIENT SAYS COUNCILLOR

A PROTEST has been sounded about the shortage of free-to-use WCs in Grimsby town centre.

Jane Hyldon-King said the facilities compared poorly with those in Cleethorpes.

Although free conveniences exist within Freshney Place, this is at the wrong end of town for those from the West Marsh area.

"If they are elderly, they don't want to be traipsing through the shopping precinct," she argued.

There are also WCs in market hall, but, for these, there is a charge.

North East Lincolnshire Council's portfolio holder for tourism, Cllr Callum Procter, said he would refer the matter to his cabinet colleague, Cllr John Fenty, who is responsible for determining what assets need to be provided.

  1. All toilets should free. Wee! All need to go some more frequently than others particularly as we get older.
