NEW TO CLEETHORPES PROM: A HAPPY HADDOCK THAT GOBBLES UP PLASTIC BOTTLES

This  novel fish-shaped stainless steel recycling bin for plastic bottles has been installed near the lifeboat station on Cleethorpes Promenade. It is the brainchild of North East Lincolnshire Council and Blackrow Engineering. The sculpture has been dubbed 'Hammy Haddock -  the winning entry submitted by Grimsby 11-year-old  Lilly-Mai Halligan, one of 80 children who entered a Name That Fish  competition. Long live Hammy - he should become quite a talking point.
