The Knoll this afternoon - why no flag at half-mast? |
UNION flags everywhere have been flying at half-mast in mourning for Prince Philip - but not on Cleethorpes seafront.
Indeed no flags at all were flying either aloft The Knoll, which is run by ex-Services personnel, nor over the road at the Memorial Gate.
How strange!
These are surely two of the places where the Duke of Edinburgh, who had a distinguished naval career, most ought to be remembered.
Perhaps there will be some appropriate initiative before the funeral on Saturday.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Cleethorpes, one of the Liberal-Democratic candidates in the forthcoming local elections was canvassing on the doorstep - despite calls for campaigning to be put on hold until tomorrow.
Rearrange these words into a well-known headline...

Thanks Bazzer - on the ball as ever.
