That's more like it! Hammer comes down at above pre-sale estimate on striking George Odlin oil

If at first you don't succeed, try again. A handsome oil painting of Grimsby in its fishing heyday failed to sell at auction last Tuesday, but the work by George Odlin  was in demand when it went under the hammer again today. The price achieved by John Taylors of Louth was £220 - comfortably above the pre-sale estimate of £150-£200. In common with normal auction house practice, the identity of the successful bidder has not been disclosed. Less successful was a charming watercolour by William Bradley (1872-1889) which sold for £45 against a pre-sale estimate of £45-200.
