Just three of North East Lincolnshire Council's 42 members had 100 per cent meeting record in 2023-24

Grimsby Town Hall where most council meetings are held

HATS off to three North East Lincolnshire councillors who had a 100 per cent meeting attendance record during  the civic year 2023-24!

They are two Conservatives, Cllr Philip Jackson (Waltham), who is NELC's leader, and cabinet colleague Cllr Steve Harness (Humberston & New Waltham) plus an Independent member, Cllr  Steve Holland (Freshney).

Attendance at meetings is far from being  the only measure of a councillor's performance.

Case work on behalf of individual electors plus involvement with community activities such as rubbish clean-ups are also important yardsticks of conscientiousness and effectiveness.

But attendance at official council meetings is widely regarded as reflecting a commitment to fulfilling  civic responsibilities.

The 2023-24 attendance register is below.
