Loads-a-money? Almost 100 officers at North East Lincolnshire Council earning £50,000-plus per annum

A TOTAL of 98 officers at North East Lincolnshire Council last year received annual remuneration of £50,000 or more. 

The number is up from 82 in  in 2020-21.

Top earner was chief executive Rob Walsh whose annual package amounts to £189,750.

It seems a lot, but the responsibilities are heavy, and it is lower than many of his counterparts at other authorities.

The salary information is contained in NELC's latest statement of accounts.

The same document reveals that, last year, the authority's 42 elected councillors received allowances totalling £498,000 - slightly less than the £502,000 paid the previous year.
