Lia Nici - full of praise for England's female footballers

GRIMSBY MP Lia Nici has joined the chorus of praise for the England team following success against Germany in Sunday's Euro-final.

"Brilliant!" she enthused in a tweet on her Twitter social media account. "Fantastic both for our female footballers and for the country!"

Did Ms Nici enjoy a kickabout when she was growing up? 

"Women of my generation weren’t supported playing football when we were younger," is her somewhat rueful reply.
