Those were the days! Humber-related shipping memorabilia set to go under hammer at auction

A tugboat -  the Abeille 1925 - in action

MEMORABILIA relating to shipping in the Humber is set to go under the hammer later this month.

At its sale on August 23, auction house Tennants, of Leyburn in  North Yorkshire, will hope bidding is brisk for a large collection of photographs, documents, prints and books about merchant ships, trawlers, tugs, docks, breakers and more.

Much of the material relates to Hull and most dates back to the early and mid 20th Century.

The collection is included within a single lot - Lot 91 - with a pre-sale estimate that it will fetch between £150 and £250.

Anyone know anything about the Port Lyttleton - presumably a vessel with links to New Zealand?
