Ornamental flower beds at busy Cleethorpes crossroads have fallen back into state of neglect

Earlier in the year, former Croft Baker ward councillor Bob Callison set it upon himself to revitalise four abandoned flower beds  at the junctions of Highgate, Sandringham Road and Trinity Road in Cleethorpes. Alas, he lost his seat at the local elections in May and his ward colleagues and successor have not seen fit to follow his example. The flower beds have fallen back into neglect. They probably provide a beneficial habitat for a few dominant wildflower species (aka weeds) and pollinating insects, but not an attractive showcase for this busy part of Cleethorpes. The flower beds are the responsibility of the LHP social housing group which, sadly, has shown no interest in following up on Mr Callison's fine example.
