Street clutter? North East Lincolnshire Council has awarded itself consent to install as many as 25 signs on the streetlights on King's Road in Cleethorpes

MORE signage is to be installed on Cleethorpes seafront.

North East Lincolnshire Council has awarded itself consent to display  as many as 25 along  Kings Road.

The decision comes in the face of concerns  that they will represent street clutter and spoil the countryside 'feel' of the south end of the resort.

A report states: "The proposal would see double-sided banner signage installed to a number of existing lighting columns. 

"These would be non-illuminated covering a maximum width of 0.75 metres and a maximum height of 1.5 metres. 

"These would sit a maximum of 4 metres from the ground level.

"The details would include images of recreational areas within the resort of Cleethorpes on both sides." 

It continues: "Whilst there would be a number of adverts to be installed, these wouldbe dispersed along the Kings Road route.

"Given this and their size, it is not expected that they would result in adverse visual clutter either in isolation or cumulatively with other and existing signage."
