Works are essential but council keen to keep disruption to the minimum |
ESSENTIAL carriageway resurfacing works are to be undertaken across North East Lincolnshire in the coming weeks.
The important improvements activity will be paid for by the 2024 Pothole Fund - a grant secured from Whitehall.
Roads identified for repairs include:
Chantry Lane, Grimsby between Littlefield Lane and Cartergate, and between Mandela Link and Ripon Street
The works will start on Monday 30 September and will be completed on Wednesday 2 October.
To enable the works to be carried out and to ensure the safety of contractors, a road closure will be in place on Chantry Lane 24 hours a day from 7pm Sunday 29 September until 6pm Wednesday 2 October.
Chantry Lane will be closed between Littlefield Lane and Cartergate and between Mandela Link and Ripon Street.
The works will be carried out each day between 7am and 6pm.
No vehicle access will be permitted within the road closure extents for the duration of the works and on street parking will be suspended.
Isaac’s Hill, Cleethorpes, between Isaac’s Hill Roundabout and St Peter’s Avenue
Works will be undertaken overnight starting on Monday 7 October and will be completed on Friday 11 October.
To enable the works to be carried out and ensure the safety of contractors, a full road closure will be in place each night between 7pm and 6am.
No vehicular access will be permitted during these times.
Street parking will also be temporarily suspended between Isaac’s Hill Roundabout and St Peters Avenue from 5pm Monday 7 October to 6am Friday 11 October.
Pilgrim Avenue, Immingham, between Carver Road and 57 Pilgrim Avenue
Works will begin on Thursday 3 October and will be completed on Friday 4 October.
To enable the works to be carried out and ensure the safety of contractors, a full road closure will be in place from 7am until 6pm for the resurfacing.
Access to property driveways on Pilgrim Avenue within the road closure extents will not be permitted during the closure times due to the depth of the excavation being undertaken.
On-street parking will also be suspended within the section extents for the closure period. Footway access will be maintained at all times.
Parking will be prohibited on the carriageway in the works location to ensure a safe working area can be maintained and to avoid delaying the works programme.
NELC says: "Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.
"Although every effort will be made to minimise disruption throughout the works, some elements will be noisy.
"The council, its partner, Equans, and contractor Specialist Surfacing Ltd would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience.
"The work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible."
