Extra waste bins on Cleethorpes prom should prove a boon when resort is full of visitors

The new bins - 10 in total - will only be in situ at busy times

A SET of new bin holders will help to keep Cleethorpes litter-free during the busy periods.

The five new stores, manufactured by Blackrow Group,  will each hold two 180-litre bins when in use for general waste.

The bins, spaced along Central Promenade, will be used on a temporary basis as and when is necessary to ensure the resort is well looked after by those enjoying it.

The bins come as part of the ongoing project to improve the seaside resort and make the area more accessible to everyone.

They should prove  invaluable during key times such as Armed Forces Weekend and the numerous food markets.

Says North East Lincolnshire Council's portfolio holder for the visitor economy, Cllr Hayden Dawkins: "These additional bins and stores are a great addition to the provision we already offer across the resort.

"We know that, at peak times, litter can quickly accumulate  along the promenade, and this will certainly help crews to clear up after busy times.

"It  may seem a small initiative but this is just one of many ways we’re making Cleethorpes a  more welcoming place."
