New look (on the outside) proposed for popular Cleethorpes seafront watering hole

A NEW look is on the cards for a popular watering hole on Cleethorpes seafront.

Proprietor Bill Parkinson is keen to modernise the front of Willy's Pub and Brewery while keeping it in character with the rest of the Tudor-style building.

The planning application to North East Lincolnshire Council states: "The proposal looks to remove an existing dilapidated entrance canopy and erect a new timber canopy that sympathetically enhances the existing building vernacular.

"This will be constructed out of accoya timber with a painted finish to relate to the existing building.

"Existing windows will be surveyed and replaced if necessary and painted appropriately.

"We feel that this proposal will greatly enhance both  the existing building's appearance and  the wider conservation area."

Cllr Parkinson is a member of NELC's planning committee and will not have any role in how the application is determined.

Owner Bill Parkinson thinks the current front canopy looks 'dilapidated'
