PLANS SUBMITTED FOR FORMER GRIMSBY NIGHTCLUB TO BECOME APARTMENTS

UP to 13 apartments could be created in Grimsby town centre if North East Lincolnshire Council planners grant consent.

A proposal has been submitted for change of use of The Venue -  formerly a nitespot - on the first floor at 128-130 Victoria Street.

Due to the economic downturn and lack of demand for the premises, it is no longer viable to sustain the upper floors for commercial use.

The intention is for the vacant second floor also to become residential.

If permission is granted it could lead to similar conversion applications in this shopping and commercial hub of Grimsby.

The applicant is Mr Edison Motina of Hull.

A decision is is expected later this summer.
