Polling stations across our area will be "safe places" for voters to cast their ballots in tomorrow's local elections.
So says North East Lincolnshire Council as voters prepare to vote tomorrow.
To reduce the risk of the ever-lurking virus from spreading, polling staff will wear face masks and will have screens in place to separate them from voters.
Polling station touch points such as door handles and polling booths will be regularly wiped down and sanitised.
Voters are being encouraged to bring along their own pen or pencil, though pencils will be available on the day for those that do not bring their own. These will also be wiped down regularly after each use.
Signage will be displayed in and around polling stations to outline the restrictions. Where space allows, some stations will have one-way systems in place, with separate entrances and exits.
Anyone who has Covid-19 or is self-isolating on polling day must not attend a polling station.
Instead, any such individuals can find out about alternative ways to vote at www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voter.
