CLEETHORPES BANK BRANCH SET TO CLOSE IN SUMMER

THE end of the line beckons for the Cleethorpes branch of the HSBC Bank.

The premises at 11 Sea View Street will close at 2.30 pm on July 8 this year.

Customers have received a letter stating: "In recent years, the growth of telephone and online banking has resulted in some of our branches being used far less frequently.

"Therefore, after careful consideration, we have taken the difficult decision to close our branch at Cleethorpes.

"We understand this may be a concern."

Following the closure, accounts currently held at Cleethorpes will be transferred to the HSBC branch at 55 Victoria Street in Grimsby.

The HSBC also has an agreement with the Post Office for its counters to be used
by current account holders to pay in cash or cheques, withdraw money and check balances.

No information has been divulged on what might happen to the Sea View Street property,  but the likelihood is that will be sold at auction.
