Auction prices achieved for two Grimsby trawler paintings didn't really set the heather alight

THERE were mixed fortunes for two Grimsby trawler paintings that went under the hammer this afternoon at the John Taylors auction rooms in Louth.

Lot 483, an oil on canvas of the Grimsby Town by artist Keith Baldock sold for £110 which was just above the highest pre-sale estimate of £100.

There was no pre-action guide price for the work, Lot 484, a limited edition print of The Northern Sun by Adrian Thompson.

In the event, it sold for just £8.

The identities of the successful bidders are not known.
