BIG CLEAR-UP UNDER WAY AFTER NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE HIT BY STORM EUNICE

Above and below: The  scene early at midday at Rowston Street in Cleethorpes at the rear of the Toast cafe.

IT is proving to be a busy weekend for Humberside Fire and Rescue teams in the wake of Storm Eunice.

Although North East Lincolnshire got off relatively lightly compared with some parts of the UK, there was extensive damage, with trees toppled, fences blown down and roof tiles and slates dislodged.

A section of Rowston Street, off Cleethorpes seafront, was closed for a while today because of loosened tiles which would have threatened the safety of any passers-by.

Although the wind has dropped, the weather is expected to stay unsettled for the rest of the weekend and at least the early part of next week.
