Even on the greyest of July days (such as today), a carpet of sea lavender can brighten up the saltmarsh

 

Saltmarsh has its critics - those who would prefer to sea sand rather than flowers - but it is habitat which provides a home to many colourful plants not least sea lavender  which thrives in this part of Cleethorpes. Currently in full bloom, it certainly brightened up what was a grey, miserable and thoroughly soggy day.
