A question of hygiene? Whether portable WCS ought to be located adjacent to a food and drinks stall is open to debate |
NO time has been lost in finding new occupiers - at least temporarily - for the seafront hedge maze site that was ripped out earlier this month.
Earler today, a coffee and donuts mobile stall appeared on the land, later to be followed by two portable WCs.
It is not known if further amenities will be added in readiness for Armed Forces weekend which starts tomorrow.
There was anger when the privet haze was removed by North East Lincolnshire Council, because the maze - though sometimes home to undesirable activity - had long been a popular free attraction for parents with young children.
It also provided nesting and roosting habitat for songbirds such as blackbirds, robins and wrens which have now flown homeless from the scene.
However, most of the early anger - much of it expressed through social media - now seems to have abated, and the council is keen to move forward.
Why have a hedge maze when you can have hardstanding, two loos and a stall selling coffee and donuts? |
