Pageantry and pride were to the fore at Saturday's military parade which featured Armed Forces personnel - past, present and future - marching from Grant Street to the lifeboat house. It was a magnificent display that rightly prompted admiration, respect and applause from the bumper crowd who lined the streets.

As ever, the 25-minute display by the Red Arrows delighted the huge crowds that were on Cleethorpes seafront for this afternoon's Armed Forces bonanza of  spectacular entertainment. Onlookers gasped and cheered at the incredible acrobatics over beach and sea. And then suddenly, there was just a lingering puff of red, white and blue smoke - they had gone. Was it all just a dream?
